India recorded less than 2,000 deaths from Covid-19 over the past seven days, the first time in 30 weeks that the weekly toll has fallen below that mark. There were 1,748 deaths recorded during the current week (December 28-January 3), a drop of 16% from the previous week’s toll of 2,087.
