Extreme heat set to double, or even triple, heart-related deaths by mid-century, study warns

New research in the American Heart Association's journal "Circulation" warns that cardiovascular deaths due to extreme heat in the U.S. could more than double by mid-century. Failure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions could triple the numbers, with older adults and non-Hispanic Black adults facing significantly higher risks.
